How to change the language in GitLab (self-hosted or gitlab.com)?

In order to change the user interface language for your self-hosted Gitlab instance, or Gitlab.com, follow these steps:

  1. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner.

  1. Click on Preferences in the menu which pops up

  1. Click on Preferences again in the left sidebar.

Step 3

  1. Scroll down to the Language section and select your preferred language. Don’t forget to click Save changes at the bottom of the page when you are finished.
