What is the 'AE' in IEC61000-4-6 conducted immunity?
In the context of IEC61000-4-6 conducted immunity testing, AE means Auxiliary equipment.
What they mean by this wording is anything which is required to make the equipment under test (EUT) operational, but is not part of the EUT itself. This typically includes items such as:
- DC or AC power supplies for the EUT
- Networking equipment, if currently testing a Ethernet port (to make the Ethernet connect)
- External displays
- DC electronic loads or other devices connected to the EUT’s output
