iperf3-Benchmark: ZeroTier vs Netmaker vs Tailscale vs direkte Switched-Verbindung

In unserem Setup war eine virtuelle Maschine (auf einem XCP-NG-Host) mit meinem Desktop (HP Z240, i7-6700 @3.4 GHz mit Ubuntu 22.04) in einem reinen Switched-Netzwerk mit 1Gbit-Links verbunden. Beide Geräte waren über einen MikroTik 10G-Switch (Marvell-Chip) verbunden.

Ich führte iperf3 -s auf der VM aus und iperf3 -c [IP-Adresse] auf dem Desktop. Reverse-Tests wurden nicht durchgeführt.

NetMaker

Netmaker verwendet intern eine normale (kernel-basierte) Wireguard-Verbindung, daher ist dies in gewisser Hinsicht ein Test der Wireguard-Leistung.

Tailscale

Für diesen Test wurde Tailscale 1.28.0 verwendet.

Während dieses Tests stellte ich sicher, dass die Tailscale-Verbindung über das Switched-Netzwerk hergestellt wurde und nicht über einen DERP-Server oder das geroutete Netzwerk lief.
