Cómo solucionar el error de instalación de RcppGSL gsl-config: Command not found

Problema:

Al intentar instalar RcppGSL usando

install_rcppgsl.R

BiocManager::install("RcppGSL")

ves el siguiente mensaje de error:

gsl_config_error.txt

checking for gcc option to accept ISO C89... none needed
checking for gsl-config... no
configure: error: gsl-config not found, is GSL installed?
ERROR: configuration failed for package ‘RcppGSL’
* removing ‘/usr/local/lib/R/site-library/RcppGSL’

The downloaded source packages are in
        ‘/tmp/RtmpqSzFab/downloaded_packages’
Warning message:
In .inet_warning(msg) :
  installation of package ‘RcppGSL’ had non-zero exit status

Solución

Necesitas instalar las cabeceras de desarrollo de libgsl2 las cuales incluyen el ejecutable gsl-config.

En Ubuntu, puedes instalarlo usando

install_gsl_deps.sh

sudo apt -y install libgsl2-dev
